I was running version 1.2 when it started, I tried verifying files (nope) and installing the 1.3 beta (nope).
It's not a mod conflict, I've taken everything out of the mods folder except the map I'm playing (Mercury Farms) and it still didn't work. Press esc and get taken into the esc menu, I can flick between screens ok, when I try to exit the menu I'm stuck at the spawn point looking at a deserted farmyard with a 'the game is paused' message over the top, and the only thing that works is killing the game in task manager. Load the game, choose the correct save game, the start button appears normally, click start, start button disappears but I'm still looking at the loading screen with the hints.
